Blitzkrieg 97

Today, three tickets from Metallica European concerts in 1997. They were the only concert that summer in Europe to a wider audience. It is true that the band played several gigs in small clubs during Re-Load Promo Tour but they were promotional gigs before the release of the Re-Load album. It was a real Metallica live blitzkrieg - band played three concerts in three days in a row - just a weekend getaway. Metallica adequately to the situation called this mini-tour - Blitzkrieg 97. So the summer of 1997 You could see the band at Pukkelpop Festival in Hasselt (Belgium), Blindman's Ball Festival in Stuttgart (Germany) and Reading Festival (United Kingdom). It was the first visit Metallica on each of these three festivals. The concert in Stuttgart was fully registered and video from show was a part of the Fan Can # 3. On each of these concerts the band played four songs from the Load album (King Nothing, Hero of the Day, Ain’t my Bitch, Until it Sleeps). I personally would like to make these songs again returned to the current setlist. Are these times I'll ever come back?. Besides ticket from Stuttgart on the other two tickets no mention about Metallica, which is common when it comes to festival tickets.

Damaged Justice Tour - Germany 1988

In 1988 Metallica started monstrous Damaged Justice Tour to promote …And Justice For All album. The tour started in Europe a concert in Budapest (Hungary) September 11, 1988. During the European leg of Tour Metallica played in October and November ten concerts in Germany. Concert promoter rose to the challenge and designed a beautiful series of tickets, which I call “guitar shape tickets”. In the last week I managed to be the holder of the last two tickets from this set and now the entire German ten is in my possession. "Guitar shape series" includes only seven tickets. I do not know whether the remaining three concerts in Munich, Saarbrucken and Stuttgart also were tickets in the shape of a guitar. Maybe someone has information about this?. The remaining three tickets are also very cool. This increases their value is the fact that on the tickets from Munich and Stuttgart was printed the name of the album "... And Justice For All", which was quite rare in those days. I am even willing to venture to say that these are the only two tickets with the print.

On stage with Stones

In 2005, Metallica played two unusual concerts. Why unusual?. Firstly, the band played as a support, and at that time Metallica for more than 10 years had megastar status and probably did not play a single concert as a support (the last time on the route of the Guns 'N Roses in 1992). Second, and here we come to the clue of the case – they played before the Rolling Stones. I'm not entirely sure what guided the band in decision about playing these concerts. Perhaps someone from the management thought it would be crossing the next border ... you know ....Guys, You will be on one stage with the famous Stones. Perhaps the band after ended a year earlier monster Madly in Anger with the World Tour would warm the bones - I might add that these were the only two shows that Metallica played in 2005. The fact is that the atmosphere at the concerts was not too heavy and even behind the scenes at times strange. There is also the fact that tickets for the concert cost more than twice as much as a ticket to a concert of Metallica year earlier. You had to paid mainly for the Stones on the bill.

What is important that during the first concert on November 13 for the first time ever Metallica played live Orion !!!. Second, that I just became a happy owner of both tickets. It was not easy but in the end it worked. Many Thanks Buzz.

New Look

Late last year, I thought it would be good to change something on my blog. The thing that strikes the eye first is of course the “opening” photo and I was decided to change the photo. I had some pictures taken of my tickets in the last years so had to just pick a new one. Above you can see already the new profile photo and below the old and the other proposals that may one day find use on the blog.

New shit in my collection #10

This is the last topic in my blog this year. Traditionally begin with the oldest of the new tickets in my collection. This time it's about really old ticket because of a concert which took place on August 22, 1983 in Tyler on tour Kill Em All For One. I must admit that at first I had concerns about the authenticity of this ticket, it surprised me even perfect condition. My fears dispelled my friend and Metallica ticket collector stating that I have no reason to worry.

Next ticket comes from Damage Inc. Tour during which Metallica supported Ozzy Osbourne. You can see that the ticket was printing ink with glitter - I have a few similar Metallica tickets, most of the second half of the 80's.

Unused ticket from July 22, 1989 from Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford during the Damaged Justice Tour.

I was looking for that ticket for a long time. It is a ticket to the third consecutive concert in Rosemont Horizon in Chicago where Metallica played three nights in a row during the tour Wherever We Roam 91-92 May.

Ticket from Summer Shit Tour 94. This is not really a new ticket in my collection. This one is just a whole and in better shape than previously held.

The last two tickets are from a ticket presale for Metclub members (those are Metclub tickets) and comes from two concerts at The Forum in Los Angeles during American leg of the World Magnetic Tour.

Monsters of Rock 1987

In late summer of 1987 Metallica played in Germany two concerts during the European Monsters of Rock Tour. These were two big concerts in Nürnberg (29 August) and Pforzheim (30 August). Tickets from both concerts I have in my collection for a long time. Both tickets have a very similar design and beyond the basic information about the show were different background color. The ticket from Nürnberg had bright green background and a ticket from Pforzheim bright pink. For a long time it was the only type of tickets from these concerts that appeared on the Internet. Earlier this year, I found a ticket from Pforzheim, who had a background in dark pink. It was something new but not yet sparked my interest. A few days ago I was able to buy a ticket from Nürnberg, who has a background in dark green. Both the two tickets from Pforzheim and from Nürnberg have the same information and differ only in the shade of the background color. I suspect that this may involve standing and seated tickets but none of the information on the ticket does not provide this. It is interesting that the two tickets with a darker shade of color have a low three-digit serial numbers. From my experience I know that tickets with low serial numbers (from the beginning of the series) were tickets given to promoter, bands quests etc. If anyone has any information about these tickets please send me message.

Metallica logo over the years

During today's session of the tickets I found a ticket from June 8, 2006 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. It was one of the shows so-called Escape From The Studio.

Metallica logo designed for this ticket consists of various Metallica logo that has evolved over the years. I mean, of course, only variations on the original logo without the hundreds of computer logo differing only used a standard font. I decided to look through my tickets in the search for different Metallica logo. Below pictures of the most interesting. Boring or not, look what I found.
