New shit in my collection #2

Over the past few days, the postman brought two nice package with some new tickets. As usual one from TMCC member and one from eBay. Tickets are from the years 1989-2004 and represent not only different Metallica lineup but show how the tickets design has changed over the years.

The first ticket of 1989 represents one of my favorite periods of the band. Mammoth Damaged Justice tour from the years 1988-1989 is probably vocally and visually in my opinion, the best live band period. Although tickets for this period are not especially interesting somehow always enjoy my interest. In 1989, Metallica played 156 shows up and it means that someone who wants to complete all the tickets of the year will have to perform the mammoth job.
nice addition from Damaged Justice Tour

Another ticket came from 1993 American leg of the Black Album Tour. Actually, it was the decline of the tour on American soil, where the peak was in 1991-92. If anyone would like to complete all Metallica tickets from one year and we are not talking about the early years of the 1982-1985, probably year 1993 will be the most difficult to complete. Why?. In 1993, Metallica ended Black Album promotion and toured with monster show literally all over the world. So, We have a U.S. leg, then concerts in Mexico, which hit later on Live Shit Binge & Purge and then it's total madness: Hawaii, Japan, Australia, Indonesia and around, South America and all of Europe at the end with the final concert in Werchter, Belgium. Together the five continents from January to July. Ufffffff….

end of the Black Album Tour on American ground
The third ticket is a typical "Fuckinticketmaster" from North American Load tour in 1997. It was one of two concerts that took place at the U.S. Air Arena in Landover. From today's four this ticket is probably the least interesting for me and saves him just that this is the full ticket.
"Fuckinticketmaster"
The last of the new acquisitions is a ticket from 2004 from the Canadian part of the Madly In Anger With The World Tour. Tickets from this tour, provided that they have been releases from Metclub are one of my favorites. Very nice design, which we have seen in the booklet of St. Anger album here has been reproduced in shades of red. Additionally, Metallica logo as a hologram does looks very good. From this period, mean years 2003-04, I suggest looking for tickets from Metclub - classic tickets from Ticketmaster, unfortunately, are a nightmare.
I'm madly in anger with You....

Next blog entry will be a jubilee. I wonder, do you know why?

Black Album live premiere

Today, Metallica started (in Prague at Synot Tip Arena) their European summer tour during which the band will be played live (for the first time ever) whole the legendary Black Album. Today also came to me a very nice ticket from 1991. And I cannot be called except by the hand of fate because it is a ticket from the first concert was to promote the Black Album. The concert was held on August 1, 1991 in Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma (California), and during this concert Enter Sandman and Sad but true were first played live. I admit that secretly I was hoping that purchased a few days ago ticket from that show will come to me just today on the European premiere of the Black Album live .... and it happened.
Beginning of world domination

I have to wait another three days to May 10, when Metallica will play in Warsaw Bemowo Airport whole Black Album live too, where waits for me the front row .... and maybe even Snakepit (... Oh please God help me).

Their show, their stage, their rulz

A few days ago, looking through my collection (again - why did I’m not surprised?) and drew attention to the fact that some of them in addition to basic information about the concert and the artist, included are various other interesting annotations. So today's topic is "interesting, funny, annoying annotations on tickets." I think I chose the few most interesting (for me) cases, which also show how changed over the years to participate in a concert with all the pros and cons.

2 drink minimum
If there were a machine to move in time I think it would be fun to see in 1982 Metallica concert. In addition to the pleasure of watching a nascent legend, ticket holders were given two drinks. It is now possible only in the VIP area, where it let's face it, fun is not too cool. I Would like this ticket in my collection, but unfortunately I am not the owner. It comes only from my collection of scans of tickets, which counts more than 1,600 scans.
2 drink minimum. Check also ticket price 3.97$

God Bless You
Belgian Heavy Sound Festival was the third major festival, which Metallica performed in 1984 in Europe. Performed there with such legends as Motorhead and Mercyful Fate. At the ticket outside the typical restrictions for large events, we have to do with "God’s blessing". This is for all those stray sheep, which, instead of to the church hit the hellish event.. Anyway - God bless you. Scan the ticket taken from the web.

God bless Metallica

Don’t drink and drive
Another nice ticket from the concert in Clarkston, Michigan (21 July 1986) where Metallica was support for Ozzy Osbourne. Like many other concerts bringing alcohol and glass bottles for safety reasons contractors are prohibited. But no one forbids drinking before and after the concert. Organizer of the concert with a view to the safe return of the fans after the concert to the house warned: don’t drink and drive

Don't drink and drive

No opening act
American tour after the release of Metallica's "Black Album" was just a Metallica concert and not in addition five other bands. I admit that I miss it right now. The exception for me was the "Big 4" tour where happy to listen to and watched all four bands. Looking back, however, the endorsement "Metallica - no opening act" would be actually a very pleasant surprise for me.

Thanks God - no opening act

No body surfing
Body surfing - one of the signs that the audience has fun and the concert is successful. In an age when half the audience is standing with cameras and phones, recording every move the band on stage phenomenon of body surfing practically ceased to exist. Currently, it is prohibited in most concerts.

No body surfing

Their show, Their stage, Their rulz
This ticket  is my favorite ticket in this episode. As for me, the words "Their show, Their Stage, Their rulz" This reflects the philosophy of Metallica concert. Let's do it on our or fuck off.

Their show, their stage, their rulz ....no other way

Special quest James Hetfield
WTF? Special guest James Hetfield?. Yes. Such information on tickets appeared in 2000 when as a result of back problems, James was unable to play three concerts during the Summer Sanitarium Tour in July 2000. When he returned to the game with the team some tickets in August, has been bearing the text "Special Guest James Hetfield". I must admit it was a very important guest at concerts:).

Very special quest

No moshing or crowd surfing
It is not even funny, it's sad. No MOSHING at Metallica concert???. Where I am ….at Justin Bieber concert ???

No moshing - sad but true

More than words
Sometimes a few pictures says more than 100 words. A ticket from Copenhagen Lars hometown of the first of the five nights concert in the Forum. Without comment.
