New shit in my collection #10

This is the last topic in my blog this year. Traditionally begin with the oldest of the new tickets in my collection. This time it's about really old ticket because of a concert which took place on August 22, 1983 in Tyler on tour Kill Em All For One. I must admit that at first I had concerns about the authenticity of this ticket, it surprised me even perfect condition. My fears dispelled my friend and Metallica ticket collector stating that I have no reason to worry.
Kill Em All For One

Next ticket comes from Damage Inc. Tour during which Metallica supported Ozzy Osbourne. You can see that the ticket was printing ink with glitter - I have a few similar Metallica tickets, most of the second half of the 80's.

Unused ticket from July 22, 1989 from Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford during the Damaged Justice Tour.

I was looking for that ticket for a long time. It is a ticket to the third consecutive concert in Rosemont Horizon in Chicago where Metallica played three nights in a row during the tour Wherever We Roam 91-92 May.

Ticket from Summer Shit Tour 94. This is not really a new ticket in my collection. This one is just a whole and in better shape than previously held.

The last two tickets are from a ticket presale for Metclub members (those are Metclub tickets) and comes from two concerts at The Forum in Los Angeles during American leg of the World Magnetic Tour.
Coffin twin

At the end I wish You all a happy New Year 2015 and only rare tickets, posters, flyers, records etc. in Your collections.

Monsters of Rock 1987

In late summer of 1987 Metallica played in Germany two concerts during the European Monsters of Rock Tour. These were two big concerts in Nürnberg (29 August) and Pforzheim (30 August). Tickets from both concerts I have in my collection for a long time. Both tickets have a very similar design and beyond the basic information about the show were different background color. The ticket from Nürnberg had bright green background and a ticket from Pforzheim bright pink. For a long time it was the only type of tickets from these concerts that appeared on the Internet. Earlier this year, I found a ticket from Pforzheim, who had a background in dark pink. It was something new but not yet sparked my interest. A few days ago I was able to buy a ticket from Nürnberg, who has a background in dark green. Both the two tickets from Pforzheim and from Nürnberg have the same information and differ only in the shade of the background color. I suspect that this may involve standing and seated tickets but none of the information on the ticket does not provide this. It is interesting that the two tickets with a darker shade of color have a low three-digit serial numbers. From my experience I know that tickets with low serial numbers (from the beginning of the series) were tickets given to promoter, bands quests etc. If anyone has any information about these tickets please send me message.

Metallica logo over the years

During today's session of the tickets I found a ticket from June 8, 2006 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. It was one of the shows so-called Escape From The Studio.

All in one

Metallica logo designed for this ticket consists of various Metallica logo that has evolved over the years. I mean, of course, only variations on the original logo without the hundreds of computer logo differing only used a standard font. I decided to look through my tickets in the search for different Metallica logo. Below pictures of the most interesting. Boring or not, look what I found.

The European leg of the By Request Tour 2014

Europejska część trasy By Request to 17 koncertów podzielonych na dwie części. Na wstępie muszę zaznaczyć że nie udało mi się zgromadzić wszystkich biletów z tej części trasy. The European leg of the Metallica By Request Tour include 17 gigs divided into two parts. Most of the tickets You see below are from my Friends: Piotr, Kasia, Michał, Richard, Alex and Mike. Thank You very much.

This part of the Tour will be for me remembered because of few facts:

  • A concert in Helsinki (Finland), during which band played for the first time in the history The Frayed Ends on Sanity from the album ... And Justice For All. Even bad weather was not able to overshadow the show.
  • Two fastest sold out concerts on the Tour: Horsens (Denmark) where the band played for the second time in prison, and Hamburg (Germany) where in my opinion was the best lineup.
  • Metallica performance at Glastonbury Festival. It was probably the biggest surprise not only for fans of Metallica but I think especially for the festival regulars Glastonb ury. It was probably the biggest surprise not only for Metallica fans but I think mainly for Glastonbury Festival regulars. Tickets for the festival were sold about six months before the announcement of the performance of Metallica, and due to the fact that they were registered they can not be sold. Tickets for the festival were sold out about half a year before the announcement of the Metallica concert, and due to the fact that they were registered they can not be resold. It is therefore highly likely that this hippie-alternative festival, there were not many fans of the team in San Francisco. Ponieważ trudno nazwać Glastonbury “ciężkim” festiwalem, bardziej hipisowsko-alternatywnym nie było na nim zbyt wielu fanów Metalliki. Atmosferę podgrzały liczne protesty przeciwko występowi czwórki z Frisco na festiwalBecause Glastonbury is definitely not "heavy" festival, more like hippie-alternative,  there were not too many Metallica fans. The atmosphere heated the protests against Metallica at the festival. Band in an appropriate way referred to these events - they made a short film with a message boils down to a short and emphatic - Fuck Off. It is worth mentioning that was a record-breaking concert at the festival this year when it comes to the number of people.
  • Koncert w Warszawie podobnie jak ten w Pardze został przeze mnie szczegółowo opisany tutaj [Warsaw 2014 home sweet home].Warsaw, it’s not because it’s my hometown (more has been described here [Warsaw 2014 home sweet home]) but also Metallica played during one concert two instrumental tracks Orion and The Call of Ktulu. Taka sytuacja kiedy na jednym koncercie Metallika zagrała dwa instrumentalne zdarzyła się pierwszy raz od ……. This was first Metallica concert with two instrumentals since February 7’1985 when they played Anesthesia and The Call of Ktulu.

New shit in my collection #9

Last time I totally forgot about a few tickets, so today is small update to part 8 ….plus new addiction from last 2 weeks. Also I’m waiting for huge package with tickets. Hope it arrive to me before Christmas madness.

First ticket today is from Ride the Lightning Tour, from show Upper Darby (Pennsylvania) January, 12th 1985. Every ticket from that era is very hard to find and is in my top.

Next one is one of my favorite tickets. It comes from …And Justice For All European Tour ’88. Concert was held in Munchen (Germany) and ticket has really nice hologram. Everything would be perfect if not for the fact that the ticket is torn.

Another European ticket is from Oslo, Norway. This was first of two concerts Metallica played in Norway that summer.

Next two are tickets from BIG4 shows. In the years 2010-11 Metallica played 16 concerts known  as a BIG4 concerts (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax). The first ticket comes from fifth BIG4 concert, which took place in Athens (Greece) June 24’ 2010. It’s very nice, large and unused ticket.

Second one is from BIG4 show which took place a year later (July 3’ 2011) in the Swedish Gothenburg. Unfortunately, my ticket is heavily faded.

Last one ticket today is newest in my collection. It’s a variation of ticket from By Request show in Warsaw July 11’ 2014. This one is General Admission standing ticket and is torn but comes from GA standing wristband what is pretty cool.

New shit in my collection #8

Time for new tickets from last weeks. Presented chronologically, from oldest to newest.

The first one is from the 1989 in Noblesville, Indiana. Graphically nothing great but I consistently completes all the tickets from 1989, one of my favorite periods of Metallica.

Another ticket from 1989 in Roanoke, Virginia. Full ticket, but the color faded a little. I don’t know why some sources (eg Metlist) give the date of the concert August 9, 1989 - day later than the date on the ticket shown above. Someone knows something about this?

In very good condition ticket from Oklahoma City from Live Shit Tour in 1994. Some of US tickets are two-color and one color means the shape of the state where is concert. In this case, Oklahoma State. Interesting. I'm sure I've seen other states shape on tickets. Should I write about it in future.

The ticket from Woodstock festival in 1994. Do you remember how Metallica concert started? Announcer - We are sorry, but Metallica will not be making tonight ...... then James from backstage - Fuck You ... ..Breadfannnn. From this concert comes my favorite version of Seek and Destroy. Almost 11 minute jam with part that is reminiscent of what we hear two years later in the song The Oulaw Torn. Listen to yourselves.

Fuck You ....Breadfannnnnn

Seek and Destroy video

Another ticket from Portugal from one of my favorite series tickets - European Poor Touring Me Tour96.

Another two tickets come from 2009 - from Stockholm. While the first concert was held on March 7 as planned, the second day was canceled due to poisoning by James oysters. The concert was moved and held on 4 May of the same year.

 Oyster Show

In the end I managed to be the lucky owner of a second ticket with the first Metallica visit in China. Thus, both tickets from China are in my collection.

Last ticket today is quite exotic. It comes from the concert, which was held in 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Tickets from this part of the world are hard to find and even more so in such good condition as this one.
